Do you remember the childhood magic of blowing dandelion puffs and making a wish? That dreamlike quality is captured in this contemporary artwork by Nikki Smith. A delicate silverpuff flower seed head in white is set against an abstract watercolor background in cool shades of blue, teal, green and lavender with splashes of yellow and pink accents.
This is another collaboration with wildflower photographer Steven Schwartzman. His photographic portrait of a silverpuff seed head, also known as Chaptalia texana, inspired this piece.
